Get Inspired

"A house is much more than a mere shelter, it should lift us emotionally and spiritually."  ~ John Saladino

Are you ready to make a change to your space but you do not know where or how to begin?

Try creating an inspiration board.  Flip through the pages of your favorite magazines and tear out the pages that speak to you.  You do not have to limit yourself to only magazine pages, you can use anything that inspires you; words, quotes, fabric, buttons etc.  The goal is to create a board that tells a story of what you want your home/life to look like.

If you do not choose to hang your inspiration board (although I have to tell you it does make a very dramatic statement); keep it where you can look at it as often as possible. I hung my 80" inspiration board in my upstairs hallway.  It gives me a great feeling every time I pass.

Opposite the hallway wall I transformed an unused closet into what I like to call my "area of inspiration".  Only the things that truly inspire me and get my creative juices flowing are allowed in that area.

"Design is about your own way of seeing the world.  Your home should tell the story of your life." ~ Sharon Handy-Robie
